Abstract:

In an increasing number of applications, we have to deal with the simultaneous action of mechanical and thermal fields in a dynamic setting. In such cases, the appropriate mathematical tool for the analysis should be based on the fully coupled model of dynamic thermoelasticity. For the formulation of this model in deformation-temperature variables, we develop an efficient numerical methodology for its solution, based on explicit difference scheme, and discuss results of its implementation on examples.
